Career Fair – “Shipping - A Sea of Careers"

Within the framework of its Educational Activities for the promotion of Maritime Careers, the Cyprus Shipping Chamber hosted the first Career Fair, Shipping "A Sea of Careers", with the participation of the Chamber's Member-Companies, Academic Institutions and Organisations, on Sunday 18 November 2018, at the Evagoras Lanitis Center, in Limassol.

The aim of this initiative, is the continual and wider effort of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber to educate young Cypriots and the wider public, about the benefits of Shipping to the Cyprus Economy and the career prospects in the shipping industry, in order to attract young Cypriots to the maritime professions, ensuring the sustainability and development of the Cyprus Shipping Industry.

Additionally, during the fair,  presentations by Shipping professionals will are held, highlighting the variety of career choices in this field and giving guidance to interested people.

The Career Fair, which is open to the public,was placed under the auspices of the Shipping Deputy Ministry and the Ministry of Education and Culture.

    The Chamber is organising an e-Navigation Seminar titled “e-Now: An ocean supply chain” on Friday, 31 May 2019, 09:00-13:00 hours at the Mediterranean Hotel in Limassol.

    The aim of the Seminar is to receive an update on e-navigation developments from various sources and have a discussion with our Members on their questions and concerns on e-navigation.

    In this respect, the Chamber has invited top panelists from across the industry and secured the attendance of representatives from the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Europe, International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA), Nautical Institute, Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) and others.
