CSC - Participation in shaping European Shipowners Policy

The European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA), representing the national shipowners’ associations of the European Union, held a Board of Directors Meeting on 31 January and 1 February at Athens, Greece. The Chamber’s President Mr. Themis Papadopoulos and Director General Mr. Thomas A. Kazakos, represented the Cyprus Shipping Industry as part of the Cyprus delegation.

The main topics of the ECSA’s Board of Directors meeting, was to map the strategy of the European Shipowners Association, as well as to define ECSA’s vision, mission and objectives until the year 2024. Additionally, the Board discussed the consequences of a number of important shipping related developments affecting ECSA’s strategy. Core items on the strategy identified included, the further focus on shipowning matters, the competitiveness of European Shipping and the relations between ECSA Members.
