The Cyprus Shipping Chamber welcomes the decision of the Counsil of Ministers to support the formation of the Cyprus Foundation of the Sea (FOS), which is a result of the longstanding idea and effort of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and the Maritime Institute of Eastern Mediterranean (MARINEM), with the Ministry of Transport.

The establishment of the Cyprus FOS will promote marine and maritime research, knowledge and innovation towards a sustainable blue economy - “Blue Growth”, as well as promote and support growth, competitiveness and job creation.

Focusing on sustaining "Blue Growth", the Cyprus Shipping Chamber continues its direct engagement, for the implementation and establishment of the FOS and invites for active participation and support in this initiative both members of the Maritime cluster in Cyprus as well as the Government and Academic community.
